FOREST SERVICE MEETS WITH PRIVATE BOATERS

If you are a white-water fanatic, a once-a-year kayaker, an Olympian or just interested in the freedoms afforded in living near the best white water river in the state, check out the article above. The Forest Service is interested in talking to the companies that run the rafting services on the Kern River and the general public to see how they can better serve us. Today's Date -- June 2, 2009 ...

An Arizona environmental group sued to have stocking programs stopped in several California waters last year. The Kern River is one of those rivers. Many of the waterways were left open to stocking programs and now the remaining ones are under review. If you appreciate coming to the Kern to fish and would like to make your voice heard, follow the link above and contact people who can make a difference.

A fundraiser for Camp Keep is coming soon! 

The Knights of Columbus from the St. Jude's Catholic Church in Wofford Heights is putting on a talent show called "FOLLIES". 
This will be held at the Reel Cinema in Wofford Heights Saturday August 8th at 2 pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to our Camp KEEP campaign. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children under 12. There will be live talented performers, with music, dancing comedy and other acts!!!


Refreshments will be available. Spread the word, support the arts and Camp KEEP and bring all your friends. For more information you can contact George Stall at

Also, this week alone, I received over $600 in newly donated money for our kids for Camp KEEP for this coming school year. If you have any pledges, or can continue to spread the word and seek donations, we really appreciate it. Our fund is growing by the day! Thank you to all we are supporting financially, and in spirit!! Keep it up we are getting there!!
